STREET ARROW

2013

Beginning at the end of the 1980s, the series SETADERUA features images of arrows used to signal road works in different cities. In 2013, as a development of Raul Mourão’s research on urban landscapes, the photos were published on social media inspiring other people to record their own images of arrows.

The collaborative piece was materialised online with the hashtag #setaderua, which has generated an image archive in constant growth. The series’ pictures were exhibited for the first time in the group show DOC.DOT.MOV at Sarah Crown Pop-up Gallery in New York, curated by Sarah Corona in October 2013.
