Conceived by Viva Projects and presented by Gafisa, VIVA REBEL is an exhibition comprised of two novel large scale interactive sculptures assembled in 2020, Rebel #1 and Rebel #2, and an installation of 22 flags/arrows hoisted on 20 feet high masts.
The exhibition’s title-manifesto, VIVA REBEL, is both an exaltation as well as an alert. Audio Rebel, a fundamental venue for Rio’s music scene, had recently celebrated 15 years and, like everyone else, had been struggling during the pandemic. As a part of a movement to keep the studio’s doors open, Raul Mourão is producing and directing a documentary about Audio Rebel’s history. This exhibition is an homage to the studio and a space for solidarity.
